Hell in Indiana Chapter 2
"Why'd it have to be him?" I asked aloud as I entered the safe vacinity of my bedroom.
"Why'd it have to be who?" My agent mom questioned as she walked in behind me.
" Austin Perkins," I spat as I threw my hands in the air. My agent mom remained silent and the only feedback I received was a raised eyebrow. Realizing she didn't know who the hell I was talking about,I continued, " He's the most insensitive, self-absorbed bastard in the whole goddamn school!"
Now her brow was harsh and unapproving.
"Sorry, Sandra," I apologized for my language.
Right now you're probably chuckling to yourself thinking that I just leaked the agent's name. Well joke's on you! Sandra is just a codename.
"And what about him?" Sandra pried.
"Well, he's also a player, a cheater, a liar..."
"What does he have to do with the mission?" Sandra specified her vague question.
I sighed in frustration but I proceeded, "he's a target." The room fell silent for a brief instance before I spoke again.
"And I saw it coming too!" I collapsed on my bed and slumped my shoulders.
"I knew about a new drug case, and I knew who was leading the investigation - Chief of Police Andrew Perkins," I explained to her.
"You're going to have to protect him regardless," she stated.
"Dammit," I laughed. Sandra playfully punched my arm as she laughed along with me.
She walked towards the door preparing to leave, but she turned around as she reached the doorway, "don't you have this guy in your class?"
"Third period english and fifth period history."
"Remember," she pointed at me authoritatively, "you've got to protect him!"
"Fat chance!" I teased though I knew I had to. "Damn!"

"Our business here is finished, then."
He tilted his head, smiling only somewhat. "I suppose it isfor now," he replied in immaculate French. Smoke curled around his fingers and drifted up to his face, sickly sweet. Behind the thick smoke shrouding the room and their hushed conversation entirely in French, they were paid no heed by the others lounging in the parlour.
She pursed her lips. "And your end of the bargain?"
"We shall live up to it, sweet Béatrice."
"It's Vanessa now, Davide, and you would do well to remember that," she countered, twisting her mouth in a grimace. The warning was clear, and her business done. She stood,

On your birthday cake for wishes.
I'd say our glances ,

mimed our smiles,
it's maybe kismet
that I hold a special place within it
(that locket on your breast's what I meant).
How could I pretend to forget
that nuzzling the back of your neck
goosebumps your skin
which brings me back to kisses.
And how each one still misses.

Laughter lights up her eyes and I know at that moment I want her to be mine. To be mine forever, or however long our bodies will allow us to remain on this earth. Whichever is the first to arrive will satisfy me. I have, however, just met the beautiful girl in front of me and understand completely my challenges. Yet, I feel something higher than me and her at work here. That shine in her eyes speaks to me. Her laugh tickles my ears pleasantly and her carefree spirit spreads contagiously to mine. I never want to be without her, for I know that I would forever lose that delicious feeling.
As I stare at her and entertain all her thoughts, I ad
